After my last child left for college, I was an empty nester with too much time on my hands. Taking my first watercolor class at Weston Community Center, turned my life around. I then took a collage class at the Jean Leighton Studio in Hollywood. The Studio then moved to the JCC Posnack Center in Cooper City. I now teach art at the JCC these many years later. Since then I have my exhibited artwork at Hollywood City Hall, Coral Springs Art Museum, ArtServe, Fred Lippman Community Center and all artwork at Pesca Restaurant on Las Olas. I have also been an exhibitor at both the Las Olas Art Fair and Estero Art Fair.
I have volunteered my time at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood by designing the set and costumes for the play “Go Fish.” I’ve enjoyed doing art projects with the children at the Police Athletic League.
“Anything Goes Art Studio” my new venture, incorporates all of my years of painting and teaching, to inspire others to tap into their inner child and explore all that’s craving to come out and shine. So, come join me and have some fun.
Living and working on Hollywood Beach has given me the opportunity to see the ocean every day. This has been a blessing. A goal of mine is to teach others the importance of protecting our oceans for future generations. Through art, I teach children to appreciate and revere our oceans. With our art, we hope to collect and donate art supplies to underprivileged children in our area.
